Day 7 - Tarascon to Carcassone

It was a cool, sunny morning after another croissant breakfast - my idea of heaven! The countryside was just gorgeous.

The ride today was tough but enjoyable, collecting cols and attempting to ignore my moaning legs and screaming shoulder (The bike is doing its job but the fit is not quite right sadly).

We left the Pyrenees and arrived in beautiful vineyard country with rolling green hills.

I had offers to join mini pelotons but my legs were just too knackered to make the effort and I was very happy daydreaming my way up and down through such gorgeous countryside.

The ride into Carcassonne was a navigational challenge but with a great view of the Citadel.

The hotel is rather swanky with a lovely view and most importantly, a huge bath, followed by a delightful nap whilst diagonal across a very comfy, big bed!

Dinner was very yummy, accompanied by some local rose wine - tomorrow is another rest day :)
